An independent condition survey, carried out periodically, not only provide the Owners, Charterers, Underwriters or Insurers a report on the general condition of the ship, but also gives an insight into the vessel's operation and procedural matters such as crew training and safety awareness. Thus, potential problems may be identified at an early stage, allowing remedial action to be taken. 3A France can provide various types of condition surveys for all sizes and types of vessel which can be tailored to suit your specific requirements. The following condition surveys may be carried out afloat, or in drydock.
Condition Surveys are occasionally required by Banks, Leasing Companies and/or Insurance Companies who are interested in the vessel’s structural integrity and safety for its intended use. It is a comprehensive inspection of the vessel and reflects the condition and degree of maintenance of the vessel and its machinery, equipment and operational.
This survey is performed for the P&I Club or Insurance Company to have a clear view on the condition of structure, maintenance and overall safety of the vessel to be protected and determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. Both the surveys are very similar to the Condition Survey and have additional comments and summary of defects and/or recommendations for action/repairs. |
